How do you use the piggyback strap on new luggage?

My new Samsonite luggage set came with piggyback clips and straps sewn to the bags but there are no instructions on how to attach the bags together…. Its not an obvious solution.

    There should be like a seatbelt. One inserts into the other - these are really useful little gadgets. If the strap can be removed from the suitcase, put the strap in the suitcase pocket before checking it it because they are easy to tear off on the conveyor lines.
